Govorjena slovenščina platform presented at the CLARIN Annual Conference 2025
Our project team member, Dr Darinka Verdonik, presented her ongoing research at the CLARIN Annual Conference 2025, held in Vienna, Austria, from 30 September to 2 October.
Her presentation, titled “Govorjena slovenščina: Structured Conversational Data Collection through Online User Interface,” introduced a platform for spoken Slovene data collection. This online infrastructure is offered as the CLARIN.si service for speech data collection, provided by the University of Maribor. The platform is designed to facilitate the collection, transcription, and archiving of spoken Slovene.
It addresses key challenges, including the legal aspects of speech data collection, participant recruitment, metadata standardisation, and transcription guidelines.
