Help improve the Tolmač translation system

CJVT UL works with The Faculty of Computer and Information Science at the University of Ljubljana on a variety of projects. This time, we are inviting you to contribute to contribute as well.

In the project Tolmač (Eng. Interpreter), we are developing a system for automatically translating lectures from Slovene to other languages.

The results of the project will be important for all of us. The translations will make it easier for foreign students to follow lectures in Slovene. The automatic subtitles will help people will hearing loss.

Lecture excerpts and recordings will be available through an online portal and will be a great addition to study materials.

This is where you come in: you can help us improve the system by reading a few sentences in Slovene.

The texts are available at student-voice.uni-lj.si.  All recordings will be anonymised and used to train models for Slovene speech recognition.

The Univesity of Ljubljana will choose among 20 participants and award them a commemorative 2-Euro coin marking the centenary of the founding of the University of Ljubljana.
Each set of five recorded sentences will make you eligible for the reward. The more you record, the more likely you are to win!
