CJVT UL is a member of ELEXIS

The Centre for Language Resources and Technologies of the Universoty of Ljubljana has joined ELEXIS, the European Lexicographic Network.

ELEXIS connects 61 different research institutions from 34 countries. Its main purpose is to connect semantic information from dictionaries and similar resources, weaving them into a giant semantic network using common concepts with open access in the cloud. Furthermore, the network is forming standards for a modern lexicographic infrastructure for a European languages.

ELEXIS is based on open data and technology, mostly artificial intelligence, machine learning, text mining and semantic technologies. The network enables free access to a variety of existing lexicographic tools for research purposes. Furthermore, the project is developing its own tools and services, i.e. for dictionary writing, format conversion etc.

CJVT UL has joined the network as an observer institution. We are looking forward to the knowledge and data exchange in such a vast international environment.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 731015.
